Do You Pay Per Person or Per Suite? How Extra Guests Work at 17 John

You pay for the suite, not per person. We don't charge a per-guest fee at 17 John, so the suite rate covers everyone in it as long as the group fits that suite's occupancy.

We sell the room. That's the short version, and it's the thing that surprises people who've been quoted per-person rates elsewhere in New York. The rate you see on a suite is the rate for the suite, whether it's two of you or a family filling it, so long as everyone fits the occupancy for that particular layout.

The one number that matters, then, isn't headcount pricing. It's occupancy. Suites here are laid out differently from one another, so before you book, tell us the dates and exactly who's coming, including the ages of any kids. We'll confirm which suite fits your group. That's a faster conversation than guessing from a floor plan.

If your plans change after you've booked, message us instead of starting a second reservation. An extra adult and a couple of children can usually be added to an existing booking, as long as the group knows the room layout and the suite's occupancy still works. Travelling with a baby? Pack n plays are free. Ask for one and we'll have it set up in the suite before you get here.

A couple of things this doesn't cover, so you're not guessing: taxes and fees are set at booking and shown at checkout, and housekeeping mid-stay is a separate add-on ($100 for a mid-stay clean) if you want the suite reset partway through a longer stay.
