NYC Wine & Food Festival 2026 at the Seaport: What to Know and Where to Stay

Quick answer

The Food Network New York City Wine & Food Festival runs Thursday October 15 through Sunday October 18, 2026, with its main campus at the Seaport in Lower Manhattan and 50-plus events spread across the city. If you want to stay within walking distance, the Financial District is the practical choice: from John Street you can be at the Seaport in under ten minutes on foot, which matters when you've got four days of tastings and no interest in a late-night cab. Our suites at 17 John have full kitchens and laundry, so you can keep a fridge stocked between events.

When and where the festival happens

The Food Network New York City Wine & Food Festival runs Thursday, October 15 through Sunday, October 18, 2026, and its main campus sits at the Seaport in Lower Manhattan. The organizers list 50-plus events and more than 300 chefs, winemakers and mixologists across the four days. Some of it happens on the festival campus by the water, and plenty of it happens at restaurants and rooftops elsewhere in the city, so read each ticket carefully before you buy: the address on the ticket is the address you need, not the Seaport by default.

Tickets go on sale in the summer and the popular walk-around tastings tend to move first. If you're planning a trip around it, book the room before you finalize the ticket list. October is a busy month down here.

Why staying in the Financial District makes this easy

The Seaport is a short walk from anywhere in FiDi, and from 17 John Street it's under ten minutes on foot. You head east on John toward the water, cross Water Street, and you're at Fulton and the piers. That's the whole trip. No subway, no car, no working out where to leave a car afterward.

That matters more than it sounds. Festival days are long and involve a lot of standing, a lot of small plates, and usually a lot of wine. Being able to walk back, drop your tote bag, change your shoes and go out again is the difference between doing two events in a day and doing four. If you're going to an off-campus event in Chelsea or the West Village, the Fulton Street station is a five-minute walk from us and gets you north on the 2/3/4/5/A/C/J/Z.

What to know before you go

Wear real shoes. The Seaport has cobblestones. This catches people out every year.

Bring a layer. Mid-October by the East River is colder than mid-October three blocks inland, especially after dark. The wind comes off the water.

Eat something first. The tastings are small plates by design, and the pours are not small.

Check whether your event is 21+. Many of them are, so if you're travelling with kids you'll want to plan around that. The Seaport itself is fine for families during the day.

Where the food is when the festival isn't on

You'll have gaps between events, and the neighborhood fills them well. Stone Street is a two-block cobblestone run of restaurants and bars about eight minutes from us, and it's the closest thing FiDi has to a dining street. The Seaport itself has a stack of restaurants around Fulton and Front Street plus the Pier 17 rooftop. If you want a quiet breakfast before a noon tasting, the coffee shops on Nassau and Fulton open early on weekdays and get sleepy on weekends, which is a fair description of the whole neighborhood.

Staying at 17 John during the festival

We're at 17 John Street, in the middle of the walk between the Seaport and Broadway. Our suites are apartment-style with full kitchens, which is genuinely useful during a food festival: you can keep the leftovers, chill a bottle you bought at a tasting, and make your own coffee at 8am instead of queuing for one. There's a laundry room on site, a fitness center and a guest lounge on the lower level, and free wifi throughout.

Check-in is after 4:00 PM and it's self-service through a smart lock, with instructions sent the day before you arrive. Check-out is by 11:00 AM, and late check-out until 1:00 PM is available for $100 when we have the space. If you arrive early or you're heading out on a late flight after the Sunday events, we store luggage in the lobby free of charge, 24/7.

We don't have parking, and honestly you don't want a car for this weekend. If you're driving anyway, the nearest garage is iPark at 29 Platt Street, about three minutes away on foot.

The rest of October down here

If you're extending the trip, this is the best stretch of the year in Lower Manhattan. The harbor is clear, the light is good in the afternoon on the waterfront, and the walk from Battery Park up to the Brooklyn Bridge takes about an hour if you don't stop. Weekends in FiDi are quiet compared to Midtown, which is either the point or the problem depending on what you came for. For us, it's the point.
