Taking the PATH Train From the World Trade Center to Hoboken and Newark

Two lines, one station

The World Trade Center PATH station is the Manhattan end of two lines. One runs to Hoboken, one runs to Newark, and both leave from the same platforms under the Oculus at 70 Vesey Street. The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey runs the system, and the station has been here since 1971, rebuilt in its current form in 2016.

The first stop on the New Jersey side for both lines is Exchange Place in Jersey City. That's the part people miss: if you're going to Jersey City, you don't need to pick the right train, you just need the next one.

Check current schedules and fares on the Port Authority's PATH site before you go, especially late at night and on weekends, when service patterns change.

Finding the station from the Financial District

From our block on John Street, walk west on Fulton and you'll hit the World Trade Center campus in about ten minutes. The station entrances are in and around the Oculus, and once you're underground you can also reach the subway at WTC Cortlandt, Park Place, Fulton Street and Chambers Street without coming back up to the street. In February that matters more than you'd think.

A fair number of our guests are here for work that's split across the river: meetings in Lower Manhattan one day, an office in Jersey City or Newark the next. Staying in the Financial District means the PATH is a walk, not a transfer, and you come home to a suite with a kitchen instead of a hotel room. If you're doing a stretch of weekdays like that, it's a genuinely easy base.
