Booking two hotel rooms for four or six people is the usual answer in New York, and it's usually the wrong one. You end up paying twice, sleeping behind separate doors, and eating every meal out. A two-bedroom suite fixes all three, as long as it's a real apartment and not a big room with a curtain across it.
Here's what ours hold, so you can compare them against anything else you're looking at.
What our two-bedroom suites measure, and who fits
They run 750 to 1,100 square feet and sleep four to six. All of them are on John Street in the Financial District, and all of them have a full kitchen.
| Suite | Size | Sleeps |
|---|---|---|
| Classic 2 Bedroom Apartment W/D | 750 sq ft | 4 |
| Deluxe 2 Bedroom Apartment W/D | 800 sq ft | 6 |
| Deluxe 2 Bedroom with Private Terrace W/D | 800 sq ft | 6 |
| Grand 2 Bedroom with Massive Private Terrace W/D | 1,000 sq ft | 6 |
| Superior 2 Bedroom Apartment W/D | 1,100 sq ft | 6 |
For scale: our studios start at 340 square feet. A 1,100 square foot two-bedroom is roughly three of those, with a kitchen and a living room joining them up. Room to stretch out.
Two bedrooms, and in the Deluxe, two bathrooms
The Deluxe 2 Bedroom is 800 square feet with a king bed in the master, a second king in bedroom two, and a queen sofa bed in the living room. That's three beds and six people. It has two bathrooms: an en suite off the master, and a hallway bathroom with a shower. Both come with shampoo, shower gel, hand soap, lotion and a hair dryer.
That second bathroom is the thing most people forget to check. Six people and one shower is a slow morning. If bathroom count matters for your group, tell us when you book and we'll point you at the layouts that work.
The kitchen is a real kitchen
Stainless steel stove, refrigerator and dishwasher, plus a toaster, kettle, drip coffee maker, knife set, cookware and utensils. We leave coffee and tea for you. The dining table in the Deluxe seats eight, and it opens onto the living area and the kitchen, so one person can cook while everyone else is still at the table.
This is the part that changes a long stay. Breakfast at home, a fridge for leftovers, and dinner in when nobody wants another restaurant. There's a CVS in our building and grocery stores within a two-minute walk, so restocking is a short errand rather than an outing.
Laundry, twice over
Every suite with W/D in the name has a washer and dryer inside the unit, and we provide the detergent. There's also a laundry room on our 2nd floor if you'd rather run several loads at once, and the detergent there is free too. For anything over a week, packing light and washing mid-trip beats hauling a second suitcase through an airport.
What's downstairs
Our fitness center is on the 2nd floor, with Technogym treadmills, bikes, an elliptical, a multi-function strength station, benches and free weights. The guest lounge is on the same floor: a marble coffee bar with a Jura espresso machine, banquette seating if you need to answer emails, and a sectional in front of a large TV. It's also where to sit if you land before 4pm and your suite isn't ready. We have a rooftop terrace open to all guests, and a conference room if your trip involves a meeting.
We don't serve breakfast, but there's coffee in the lounge.
The fine print worth knowing before you book
Check-in is after 4pm and check-out is before 11am. Early and late requests depend on the day, so ask us rather than assume. We don't charge per guest, so a suite that sleeps six costs the same whether four of you or six of you turn up, as long as everyone is on the reservation. Housekeeping isn't daily; a mid-stay clean is $100 whenever you want one. No smoking anywhere, including the terrace. We're not pet-friendly, though service dogs stay with no pet fee. Keep the noise down after 10pm, since there are neighbors on every side.
Where you'll be standing when you walk out
On John Street, in the Financial District, with Fulton Street Station steps away. That station carries the A, C, J, Z, 2, 3, 4 and 5, which is most of the map from one staircase. Wall Street is a couple of blocks south. The 9/11 Memorial and South Street Seaport are both walkable, in opposite directions, and the Financial District is quiet on weekends in a way midtown never is.
If you're deciding between one suite and two connecting rooms, we've written that comparison out separately. And if the group is bigger than six, our three-bedrooms run 1,100 to 1,200 square feet and sleep up to eight.
